About Us

Churches united to serve our community with compassion and dignity

OUR STORY

A Legacy of Service

For over 25 years, churches in Rankin have come together to help struggling residents in Upton County. What began as informal collaboration between congregations grew into something greater—a unified alliance committed to meeting our neighbors’ needs.

In 2024, recognizing the growing needs of our community and the opportunity to serve more effectively, member churches formalized this partnership by establishing the Rankin Ministerial Alliance as a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This step allows local businesses and generous supporters to receive tax benefits for their contributions while strengthening our capacity to serve.

What makes the RMA special is our belief that no denomination is more important than meeting our neighbor’s needs. When churches work together—Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, and Assembly of God—we demonstrate that faith in action transcends our differences.

Rural communities face unique challenges: limited resources, geographic isolation, and economic uncertainty. But we believe these challenges are opportunities for the church to be the hands and feet of Christ. We envision expanding into even more diverse programs that address the root causes of poverty in our community. Because when churches unite and neighbors help neighbors, transformation happens.

OUR MISSION

The Rankin Ministerial Alliance unites churches to serve Upton County families through food assistance, financial support, youth outreach, and community resources – meeting physical needs while sharing the love of Christ with dignity and compassion.
